All our team are doing their very best in what can only be described as difficult circumstances. To our patients who continue to be understanding and supportive, we whole heartedly thank and appreciate you.
Demand for appointments has become significantly greater than the capacity, and whichever way we try to manage our appointments, we cannot always see everyone when they wish to be seen.
We understand and share your frustrations, but please do not shout or swear at our team. Unfortunately, we are seeing an increase in abusive behaviour towards our team. This is unacceptable, hurtful and will ultimately drive team members away, making the service even harder for us to deliver.
Our staff should not have to suffer abuse for simply doing their job, so we operate a zero-tolerance policy on this type of behaviour. We are here to help, not to be hurt.
We understand that patients want to be seen face-to-face and we do facilitate this where clinically appropriate, as we have done throughout the entire pandemic. Our appointments with a GP will be via telephone initially, and if the clinician feels that a face-to-face appointment is needed, this will be arranged.
We have GP’s, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurses, and other clinicians working on our appointments, which is why the reception team will query the reason for the appointment, ensuring patients are booked with the clinician most suited to their needs.
There are other services that are outside of the practice which may be better placed to manage your condition, for example pharmacies. Therefore, the team may direct you to other services, if required.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
