Care Quality Commission

CQC Inspection - Last carried out 25 February 2019

The Care Quality Commission (CQC), the body that regulates healthcare providers in England, has carried out a routine inspection of Newcastle Medical Centre. The inspectors raised a number of concerns about systems and proce
sses, and decided to place the practice in ‘special measures’ for a six-month period.

We take these concerns very seriously and have a clear plan to improve our systems and make the necessary changes.

We have taken steps to strengthen our management team and we are absolutely focused on meeting the inspectors’ requirements over the coming months.

“In the meantime, we would like to reassure you that the surgery remains open and very much committed to providing a quality service.

“If you have any concerns, please speak to one of our practice team and we will be happy to help.”
