Book an Appointment

Surgeries are run on a 10 minute appointment system for the doctors, nurse practitioners and nurses. The day-to-day appointments run from 8.30am to 5.30pm although each doctor, nurse practitioner and nurse has a different availability.

Types of Appointments

At Newcastle Medical Centre we offer the following types of appointments:

  • Pre-bookable routine appointments with the Doctor, Nurse Practitioner & Practice Nurse and Healthcare Assistant. You can make a routine appointment up to three months in advance.  If you would like to make an appointment for a blood test, smear test etc. this must be booked before 4:00pm and Monday to Friday only.

  • ANP Telephone Triage Slots  - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday  AM.  A Nurse Practitioner will triage patients via telephone and will sign post to the correct clinical member of staff if necessary

  • Saturday Surgery with Nurse Practitioner/Practice Nurse/Health Care Assistant
    The Practice currently offers appointments on a Saturday with a health care professional. If you would prefer one of these appointments please telephone reception on 0191 232 2973 to arrange.  Please note there is no telephone availability on a Saturday

  • Urgent Appointments

  • Telephone Consultations

DNA's

A DNA (Did Not Attend) is someone who does not turn up for an appointment nor do they ring to cancel the appointment enabling us to offer it to someone else. If you are unable to keep your appointment please telephone the Practice and advise us so that we can offer it to somebody else.
